La Ferme de Georges

Atins, Caatinga

La Ferme de Georges invites you to a truly unique corner of northeastern Brazil. Its location next to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park offers a breathtaking paradox of nature, right on your doorstep. This one-of-a-kind landscape boasts vast stretches of white, ethereal sand dunes that merge with an intricate labyrinth of crystal-clear turquoise lagoons, a surreal spectacle to behold.

At the property, rustic minimalist structures spread across two hilly green acres, crafted from local materials like wood, brick, and thatched straw. Guest lodges find the balance between comfort, privacy and nature immersion, with beautiful four-poster beds that add a luxurious touch. After a day of exploring, take a dip in the idyllic pool, shaded by cashew trees, or dine at the hotel’s restaurant, serving ingredients fresh from the on-site organic gardens.

Ideal for: Nature immersion, remote adventures, kitesurfers

  • Why we love it
  • Highlights
  • Positive Impact

La Ferme de Georges offers a truly immersive experience, where thoughtful design harmonizes with the stunning natural surroundings of dunes and caatinga gardens. It’s also one of the few places in this sandy town that has bilingual speaking staff, which, together with their helpfulness and warmth significantly enhance the guest experience.

We love the spread-out chalets that provide exceptional comfort and privacy. Here, you won’t see other rooms from your window - it feels as though you have the garden entirely to yourself. The expansive grounds and peaceful pool area create a little haven, where you can relax and reconnect with the surrounding nature.

The on-site restaurant is a standout, serving fresh, flavorful dishes often sourced from the property’s organic gardens. With its French heritage, the cuisine is as refined as it is satisfying - a highlight of any stay.

La Ferme de Georges in Atins is committed to implementing sustainability measures that address environmental and social challenges in the area. The property prioritizes biodegradable packaging whenever possible and focuses on reusable items, such as bamboo straws, to reduce waste. Guests are encouraged to align with these ecological practices during their stay.

The hotel maintains an on-site garden, with produce used for guest meals and donated to staff. Additionally, La Ferme de Georges partners with the local organization Peixinhos da Areia, which provides cultural and educational support to children in the village through after-school programs hosted at the property’s extension, Casa da Praia. Guests can contribute to this initiative by donating books and educational materials to support the children’s learning and development.
