At Ponta dos Ganchos Exclusive Resort, sustainability measures are integral to its operations. Organic waste is composted and used as fertilizer in the resort’s garden. All waste is recycled, and treated water from the on-site sewage plant is repurposed for gardening. Rainwater is collected and utilized for washing vehicles, streets, and laundry. The resort's bungalows feature intelligent and sustainable design, including cross-ventilation, solar panels, green roofs, and the use of reforested wood. Over 10,000 native tree saplings have been planted to support reforestation efforts in the surrounding area. The resort prioritizes hiring from the local fishing community, with more than 70% of employees being residents. Of these, 38% are children of fishermen from the region, and approximately 18% of staff members come from the same family groups.
