Itinerary Details

Samba in Rio, Paraty’s Colonial & Coastal Heritage and Iguassu Falls

From Rio's beaches and hilltop icons to a hidden caiçara coast and the thunder of Iguassu.

DAYS: 9

DESTINATIONS:
Begin in Rio, ascending to Christ the Redeemer in the early morning quiet before the city wakes, then riding the cable car to the summit of Sugarloaf for views stretching across Guanabara Bay. Go behind the scenes at a samba school before heading south to Paraty, where colonial cobblestones give way to Atlantic Forest trails and a day among the caiçara communities of a preserved stretch of coastline. The journey ends at Iguassu Falls, exploring both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides and riding by private boat into the spray at the base of the falls. A journey for those who seek dramatic nature, cultural depth and moments of stillness in equal measure.
